Google ads can get complicated and what we include in each of our Google Ad plans can sound like gobbledegook, so here are some short explanations that will help clarify what we’re blabbering on about!
An ad group contains one or more ads that share similar targets. We use ad groups to organise your ads by a common theme, for example, the types of products or services that you want to advertise on Google.
This is the process of raising and lowering your keyword bids to ensure we’re making the most of your budget. Your bids are one of the factors that determine when and where your Google ads show up in search results.
We manage your negative keywords which are a type of keyword that prevents your ad from being triggered. Your ads aren’t shown to anyone who is searching for that phrase. This is also known as a negative match.
Retargeting is a way to connect with people who previously interacted with your website. It allows us to strategically position your ads in front of these audiences as they browse Google or its partner websites.
Landing pages are standalone web pages created specifically for your Google ads. Unlike a website homepage which typically has many goals, a landing page is designed with a single goal, known as a ‘call to action’, specifically tailored to your ads.
Shopping ads are ads that include rich product information, such as a product image, price, merchant name and the option top ‘Buy Now’ directly within the search results. These ads are served to people who are specifically searching for them.
Social ad plans explained.
What we include in our social media advertising plans can understandably sound a little confusing to some, so here are some short explanations.
Back to prices.
Ad variations.
This is referring to how many adverts will be created in any one campaign, we never run with just a single ad. Having variations of an advert allows us to test them against each other and optimise for the better-performing ones.
Objective page posts.
We will not only run ad campaigns targeting new audiences and potential prospects, but we also post versions of the ads to your business page(s)/profiles. Although this won’t reach new audiences, it will keep your existing ones informed.
Retargeting ads.
Retargeting allows us to remind your website visitors of your products/services with targeted ads across social media after they leave your website. Retargeting is a very powerful method of turning people into customers and leads to sales.
Ad split tests.
Split testing allows us to create multiple audiences and test them against each other. For example, we can test the same ad on two audiences (e.g. men and women) to see which audience performed better and then optimise the ad content accordingly to reach more people.
Conversion tracking.
Tracking conversions is important because it tells us if the ads we’re creating are delivering the desired results/goals. With conversion tracking, we can track from the point someone sees your advert, right through to the point they become a paying customer or lead.
Abandoned basket RT.
This is a method or retargeting customers who have visited your website and added a product to their basket but for some reason, didn’t checkout. We can then show specific product ads to those customers as they browse social media, reminding them to checkout and complete the sale.
