Website FAQ’s.
This one’s easy, if you cancel your subscription plan you will lose our services and the website. With that said, we always keep a copy of your website on file so should you wish to reinstate it at a later date, we certainly can.
Our design and build process depends entirely on working with you. If there are delays in getting approval or providing content then the turnaround time of the project will be delayed. With that said, however, some websites will take less than 30 days to be baked to perfection!
Of course, we’re actually a full-service agency so we can help with logo design and development and even content writing if required.
No problem. If you don’t need us to provide you with a new domain name, we can instead transfer, manage and renew your existing one for you. Alternatively, you can simply leave it where it is and we can provide you with instructions on how to point/direct it to your new website come the time.
Payments are taken via direct debit facilitated by GoCardless, you can find out more about them here.
In short, yes! ;o)
We’ll be surprised ;o) What we build for you will be entirely based on the brief you supply to us (don’t worry, we help with that). But if you don’t like it, we’ll work closely with you amending and evolving the design until you’re 100% happy!
Good news, there are no setup fees or any other hidden fees for that matter! The plan prices you see advertised here is what it is, nothing more. The only time any other costs apply is if you require features that are not included in your plan.
Sure! With the ‘Whole Cake’ plan, we set up your website to accept card payments via many payment gateway providers including Stripe, Square, WorldPay, SAGE, Amazon Pay, Barclaycard, PayPal, Klarna and loads more. Chances are, we can set up your website to accept payment via any payment gateway provider you like.
No problem, you have two options here. The first is that you make use of the simple and intuitive content management system that all of our websites come with and make the changes yourself (we provide full training with all our websites before launch, it’s super easy!). The second option is, we do it for you, this will be charged based on the scope of the changes required and the amount of time it takes us. We’ll always provide a quote before we get started.
Unlike WIX, Square Space and the likes, Cakecrumbs isn’t a DIY product, we are digital design professionals who will take a brief from you and then design and build a tailored website unique to your business requirements. You’re not on your own and we will continue to look after and maintain your website going forwards.

Nope! All our plans come with unlimited pages. Most brochure style websites might have between three and ten pages consisting of a home page, about page, some services pages, a news/blog page and a contact page for example, but if you need more, no problem!
There’s no difference in what we include in each of the plans, the only difference is, if you pay yearly then you get 15% OFF! :o)
Hell no! That would be boring for us and for you. All our websites are built from the ground up and tailored to your specific requirements and brief, we don’t use any templates.

Marketing FAQ’s.
Social media ads.
In short, no! Cakecrumbs Social Media Advertising is a pay monthly service, we won’t lock you into any long term contracts or agreements. However, if you choose not to continue with our services, a minimum of three months notice is required.
If you cancel your social media advertising plan the services we provide will stop. If required, you can then revoke our access to any ad accounts we have access to and we’ll hand over any relevant ad graphics, videos and content.
Yes, a setup fee of £299 applies to all of our social media ad plans, however, if you commit to at least 6 months, we’ll waive that setup fee. The setup process is required as it includes everything we need to successfully execute a social media advertising campaign. It includes social page(s) health check, ad account setup/access, website ad/conversion tracking integration and initial ‘cold’ audience building. For those without an existing social presence, a £79 setup fee applies per social channel.
To be honest, this requires a longer answer, but in short, the main difference is how products/services are shown to consumers. Social media ads are shown to users based on their interests and web browsing habits, while Google shows relevant ads to those who are specifically searching for a product or service. In simple terms, social media ads are more ‘passive’ whereas Google Ads are more ‘intent’ based.
Social media advertising is a way to target audiences on specific networks based on demographic information so targeted consumers see your brand in their feeds. It can work really well when done right! (we do it right!) But pushing paid content in front of random social media users isn’t going to immediately work or produce results, you have to be strategic with your ad spend, content selection, targeting frequency and audience demographics.
We get asked this question a lot and to be honest, there is no right or wrong answer. Your budget can be as big or as small as you want it to be. We simply say, your budget should be exactly what you can afford.
Har far your budget goes depends on the size of the audience you’re targetting. For example, if your audience consists of a few thousand people, then a small budget will reach those people pretty quickly. If however, your audience is much bigger, consisting of millions or even tens of millions, then you’ll need a bigger budget to reach them all.
Ultimately, you’ll see results regardless of your budget, however, the smaller the budget the longer it will take to see those results.

Google Ads.
No, Cakecrumbs Google Ads is a pay monthly service, we don’t lock you into any long term contracts or agreements. However, if you choose not to continue with our services, a minimum of three months notice is required.
If you cancel your Google Ads subscription plan the services we provide will stop. If required, you can then revoke our access to your Google Ads account and we’ll hand over any relevant keyword research we have carried out for you to use with future campaigns.
Yes, a setup fee of £349 applies to all of our Google Ad plans, however, if you commit to at least 6 months, we’ll waive that setup fee. The setup process is required as it includes everything we need to successfully execute a Google Ads campaign. It includes a website health check, Google ad account setup/access, website ad/conversion tracking integration e.g. landing page clicks, phone call tracking, page view tracking and form tracking.
In short, the biggest advantage of Google Ads over SEO is that it can generate results much faster.
Google Ads is an advertising platform owned by Google and you pay per click for your advert to appear in the Google search results. But don’t worry, you only pay for one click i.e. you are not charged multiple times if a user clicks on your ad more than once.
Search Engine Optimization or SEO involves appearing in the organic (non paid search results) of Google, it tends to take longer to achieve a high ranking position but it’s free once you get there.
Google Ads work by displaying your ads when people carry out a search which includes your chosen keyword(s) within it. By leveraging smart technology, Google Ads help to get your ads in front of potential customers at just the moment they’re ready to take action.
It doesn’t stop with Google Search, we also take advantage of the Google Display Network. The Google Display Network is Google’s network of sites and apps. Google has agreements with millions of websites and applications, wherein the site receives revenue for allowing Google to advertise there. The Google Display Network is where your display ads appear to users throughout the internet.
We get asked this question a lot and to be honest, there is no right or wrong answer. You will find many opinions online and even ways of doing rough calculations, but these are all based on guesswork. We simply say, your budget should be exactly what you can afford.
Primarily, it depends on the level of competition you have in your industry and who else is running ads for the same keywords. Let’s say your cost per click is £1 and you set a budget of £5 per day, that will get you 5 clicks per day. Depending on how well your website converts, over a period of 7 days, you might turn 3 of the 35 clicks into paying customers, and that might be more than enough for you to provide a good return on investment.
The bigger the budget, the more clicks you get and the more chance you have of converting those clicks into sales.
We know what you’re thinking now… ‘how much is a click?’ Again, it depends on the level of competition you have in your industry and who else is running ads for the same keywords. When we carry out keyword research we’ll be able to tell you what your average cost per click will be.

In almost all cases, yes and technically, it should be. In general, SEO is a long term strategy that requires ongoing efforts to both achieve and maintain results. With that said, however, in some low-competition niches, it may be possible to get away with a one-time optimisation.
An SEO audit is a full review of s website in its current state and how some key factors are affecting its organic search ranking results. We use SEO audits to compile a list of actionable tasks.

It can take anything from a few short months to years to achieve the desired search ranking. The results of our SEO services depend on many variables but mainly, the target keywords, target locations and level of competition. On average, our clients start seeing measurable results within three to six months.
The primary difference is the amount of time we spend both on and off your website. The more time we spend, the more outreach we can do, the more backlinks we can create and the more directories we can submit your website to. This means faster results! The other main difference is content, our higher-tier plans include article writing which we publish both on and off your website. Google likes new content ;o)
In short, yes! We get that businesses who rely on online lead generation and eCommerce sales are very different and have very different types of website architecture. The strategies we use for each are unique and we have a proven track record of performing for both types of businesses.
Yes! You’ll be assigned an SEO specialist that will be your main point of contact.
